Welcome to the Pavilion of Finland and the Biennale Architettura 2021 in September
Due to the circumstances caused by the coronavirus, many countries weren’t able to invite guests and network during the Biennale Architettura preview days in May. Therefore several national pavilions organise a joint two-day event in September. The programme will include guided tours and other events.
The Pavilion of Finland’s exhibition New Standards launches the same name book on Thursday 23 September at 4 pm. During the Pavilion Days, the guests will be offered guided tours of the exhibition and possibilities to discuss with the curators and organisers.
The book launch will be preceded on 23 September at 3 pm by the official opening of the exhibition What We Share at the Nordic Pavilion, co-commissioned by the Museum of Finnish Architecture and produced by the National Museum of Norway. The exhibition in Sweden, Norway and Finland’s joint pavilion features the Norwegian architecture firm Helen & Hard.
On Friday 24 September at 3 pm, Archinfo Finland presents a screening of the acclaimed documentary film Aalto (2020) by director Virpi Suutari, who will be present to introduce the film. The screening takes place at Cinema Astra on the island of Lido and the event is part of the Pavilion of Finland’s Pavilion Days programme.
